Amidst the life-giving green surroundings of NTPC Barh campus Notre Dame Academy stands tall for its excellent educational heritage. Invited by National Thermal Power Corporation ‘EK MAHARATNA COMPANY’, Notre Dame Academy began its journey in rural Barhon June 27, 2007.
Notre Dame Academy,a branch of an International Organisation, administered by Women Religious, is a Catholic Institution managed by the Patna Notre Dame Sisters Society. Therefore all decisions of the governing body find their source in Christian philosophy and theology. The aim of Notre Dame Education is to train young people for unselfish leadership so that the students we educated will be able to change the oppressive structures of society by standing for justice and human rights. They are to assist their fellow citizens in directing their lives to God in faith by helping, healing, reconciling and taking firm stand on moral principles of honesty, integrity, hard work and freedom. We believe that we are responsible for demonstrating and promoting the qualities of an educated person which include wisdom, competence, compassion, sense of well-being, and quest for peace and justice. Consequently, we send forth young men and women with profound capacity for self-giving and sensitivity to respond empathetically to the social realities of their times.
Cradled in the safe township of NTPC, Notre Dame Academy provides a clean and safe learning environment. Students are encouraged to participate actively in its curricular and co- curricular activities. We believe that School is a place of discovery that takes the teacher as well as the learner beyond books. Hence, we strive to create our classrooms as sacred places of holistic growth and development of both students and teachers. This is that GROUND ZERO from where collaboration between teachers and students find milestones for their progress / success! Aiming towards wholesome future Academy prepares students for the CBSE examinations. The medium of instruction is English and Hindi and Sanskrit are taught as second language. The school also initiated plus two course with Science Stream since 2017.
